The property was not clean or in acceptable condition upon arrival. There was visible mold, dirty bedding with hair and what appeared to be old bodily fluids on the sheets, broken ceiling fans, and non-functioning air conditioning. The walls and baseboards were visibly filthy and covered in dust. After extended back-and-forth communication regarding these issues, the host ultimately agreed to cancel our stay at approximately 1:00 AM—leaving us without any immediate or safe alternative accommodations. We were then forced to search for another property late at night, wait for our booking request to be accepted, and then wait again for confirmation on early check-in from the new host. During this process, we had no safe or viable option but to temporarily remain at Sophie’s property due to the hour and lack of alternatives. In order to make the space minimally usable for a few hours, we had to wash the bedding ourselves. Despite the condition we found it in, we made sure to leave the p
